Emily didn't respond to his question about owning her but she leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms over her chest, "Your one to talk about lack of control...last time I checked James hasn't once attacked someone at the school. He has control...he's been a gentleman about it."
"I won't get hurt again...I've known James for years, longer than I've known you. I know him and the only pain I'm experiencing now is because of you...you don't trust my judgment...you don't trust that I know what I'm doing." She had known when the James issue came up she'd have to talk him down and as he wasn't dropping it she went on the defensive. His words and the look on his face wouldn't break her. She knew what was best...he didn't...it was her life.
