Narrative: From Sire to Sired Who: Ben and [Open if you want] Where: Corridors, Boys Locker Room When: Early Afternoon, February 14th, 2015
A day full of roses, cards, dates, chocolate, and pressure-filled expectations. Ben was taking in stride even with the five roses he received - a yellow one from Craig, a yellow one from Mr. McColl, and 3 red ones from an unknown party.
Last night was eventful - no movie, but loads of sex with Craig. A good surprise and a great release. Smiling to himself, the vampire reached the mail area of the school. In his box was an A&F catalog, fast food coupons, and underneath all of that - an envelope with a handwritten address from Amsterdam. Against Ben’s fingers, the material of the envelope felt like the higher grade paper you could buy in a stationary or office supply shop. Tucking the catalog and coupons under his left arm, Ben stared at the return address and his own. Who else other than his parents and siblings knew he was here?
The vampire peeled the envelope open, careful not to rip it. Then he pulled out a carefully folded sheet of twenty-five percent linen white paper and Ben’s first driver’s license. Ben unfolded folded paper and saw words written in the same handwriting as on the envelope:
Benjamin,
I need to introduce myself…
Ben turned and briskly walked around to the presumably empty boys locker room for a bit of privacy. Dropping the other pieces of mail on the bench, The fangling sat down on the bench and began reading again.
---
Benjamin,
I need to introduce myself. My name is Alec Hesse. I am the vampire that sired you. This letter took me a month to write and more so to send to you once I found you. Your drivers license was not lost in the mud and filth of that pit. I stole it.
I was desperate for some sort of lifeline in that pit. No one had come as close to it since I was left down here nearly drained of blood and cowering from the sunlight nearly five years ago. I am sorry that you had to be the one who saved my life. I drained you dry and then I turned you.
You probably think I cursed you. Yes, I did. And that is why I am writing to you. I need to make up for leaving you there, alone to discover what you have become. I want to be the sire that you deserve. I want to show you everything you need to know about being a vampire - how to survive in the world.
I have a feeling that your family did not take your vampirism well. But you need not worry about that anymore. I am coming to get you when you graduate from St. Margaret’s.
Please write me back. I’d appreciate word of either your acceptance or rejection of my apology and offer of guidance. My email address is al_hesse@emailaddress.com.
Sincerely,
Alec Hesse
The vampire softly trembled, recalling what he could from that fateful day, and didn't notice the sound of footsteps nearby.
