"For the dates!" She echoed again, zigzagging the pillars of the grand ballroom with snow and dust raining behind her. "One, two, three, four," she counted as she passed the couples, zooming over their heads and even paused to tap some on the head as though she were about to play a round of Duck Duck Goose.
In fact, that idea appealed to the little faerie, and she slowed down, standing on one couple's table to reach over to touch one of them on the head. "Five," she sounded off, then touched the date. "Six."
Raising the bell again, her other hand resting on her hip, Lucia rang it loudly. "And go!"
