Jasper and Lilie
Jasper would be lying if he said his heart wasn't breaking at her words. Not shattering into a million pieces of despair, because she was being sweet about it. She basically was saying 'It's not you it's me,' only in a longer more in depth way. While he knew that part of him wanting to collapse into a pout and skulk off he decided against it. He had told himself that 2015 was going to be different, he was going to approach her and he did already tell her how he felt. And he wasn't going to give up...he was just going to go slow now...putting the whole flower thing out there was stupid, he knew but he had gotten so flustered. He finally started feeling the calming effects of his drinks start to settle in...did they take a while or what.
A gentle smile came to his face and he gave a little chuckle, "Lilie, don't worry, I totally understand. I wasn't expecting you to fall into my arms and us to spend the night together or anything. And I get complicated, I'm not going to press, you aren't obligated to tell me anything," he really wanted to know but it was totally up to her, "I mean I just wanted you to know that it was me all this time. I'd be lying if I said I haven't been a bit infatuated with you over the past couple of years. And I don't just mean your looks. I mean I love your smile and your laugh, also you just shot me down in the nicest way possible. It's little things like that I like. Also you're very clever, for example," he took another sip of his water, "I heard about the prank of Ladon...that was brilliant."
"I really hope things won't be weird between us because of what I've said. Also the whole date thing...we don't have to think of it as a date if you want. It can just be...two friends hanging out, you know go have dinner in town, I mean I got a car. Camden is nice but...it's gets old once you've been here as long as we have. It can be like something I'd do with James, James is my friend and a good man but...occasionally us fellows like to partake in the company of the fairer sex. So...what do you say...want to go to dinner with me sometime...friend?"
