Adrian and Lucia
Right after the end of the last class of the day, Adrian and a few other student council vollunteers went straight to the ballroom to finish setting up for the evening. The preparation time went by quickly, and the young fairy's mind kept occupied with the tasks at hand. It was only once they were done and having a quick snack before everyone arrived that Adrian had time to think about the evening. Though he'd been responsible for setting up the event, he hadn't thought it through at the time, that he'd be emceeing the night while having to be in the same room as the girl he liked, who'd be dating a wide variety of other people, at least one of who she was having a relationship of sorts with. He didn't want to be thinking about that, but he couldn't help himself.
It was probably his jealous, less-than-happy thoughts that spurned a bit of impulsivity from him as the night began. He'd dressed up for the evening, dress clothes and a suit jacket. At the last minute, he took off the jacket and pushed his wings out though the holes in the back of his dress shirt. He almost never showed his wings in public, in front of a crowd, but he'd decided he'd like the attention, he'd like to imagine the attention meant that some of the students might be wondering what they were missing out on by him not being part of the actual speed dating. It made him feel just a bit better.
Adrian was a little nervous speaking to the crowd, but did alright. Once everyone was ready, he rang the bell, then set the timer on his cell phone. Five minutes. Adrian people-watched some, and did find this to be interesting. He noticed he wasn't the only one, a couple other students had slipped in and were browsing the snack table while looking on. The fae decided not to make a big deal about it, as long as it was only a few people and not a whole crowd. Once the five minutes were up, Adrian rang his bell and set the timer again. He watched, pleased that the rotation of dates seemed to go well and without any confusion. He rocked on his heels just a little and his wings moved idly behind him.
