Ashton was fooled by Paxton's display of nonchalance after being threatened and released with his hide still in tact. It irritated the dragon further, that he had not even phased the demon, and when the next question came, Ashton glared. Perhaps Paxton didn't think he was serious about his threats. And that was the problem, Ashton couldn't be serious with them. He had seen the consequences, both on the silver screen and in his own life of when he let his anger and his dragon instincts get the better of him. When a dragon could destroy half a city in a single pass, it was a serious threat.
Ashton didn't want that. Not only that, but Blake, Ms. Menides, and especially Barclay would not allow it.
"I would like to talk about you." His green eyes narrowed. "You ask too many questions when it is none of your concern. We will do a trade, perhaps. A game. A deal," he eyed the demon. "I will answer one of your questions, but first you will answer one of mine."
