Ashton snarled, the low sound of his growl lessening some as he gradually, with a fair amount of reluctance, let go of the demon's shirt. Like an intelligent creature? He was an intelligent creature! The distinction between intelligence and instinctive dominance was difficult to balance, Ashton was finding. It would not be intelligent to threaten another student in the open library - as he had learned already in a previous encounter. It would not be intelligent to try and prove that he couldn't own up to his own flaws - while displaying one of his flaws in a glaringly obvious way.
That was the stinger, Ashton didn't want to prove Paxton right by his actions, even if his pride and desire to hold the demon down against the table while towering over him was strong when Paxton told him to let go.
The dragon pushed Paxton back into his seat and huffed, shaking his head with unspent built up agitation. "My flaws are none of your concern."
