Oliver had been having a good time working on the bike he had gotten, but unfortunately it still wasn't quite working. Gabriel had been helping out whenever possible; however, Ollie was becoming aware that he was likely going to have to order some new parts; of course, he still wasn't letting things go without a fight. He had been working on a few of the parts from a different perspective than most people would. It was one of his ways to figure out how to make things work whether it was originally supposed to or not; therefore, the idea of something just not working especially when it was supposed to work was simply not something he was willing to accept.
His hands were blackened from working over the past hour. He had been trying to clean up some of the piston rings in order to see if any of them were salvageable by any means. His hope was that those were going to be the only issues since they could easily be replaced. Other things were a great deal more costly and would likely be difficult to simply come up with a new idea for. Sure his long term goal was to customize the shit out of this bike so that it would look like a light cycle from Tron, but right now his goal was just to get the damn thing started.
He had actually worked on a few things already during robotics which had come in handy for swapping a few things out. He had learned the basic functions of most of the parts, so each time something new was found out to be screwed up he began working on a replacement in robotics. Some things had worked nicely, some not so nicely, some nearly got him kicked out of the auto shop. Some would think he would have learned his lesson, but to a scientist the lesson he learned was some worked which meant it was possible. He had even made a few things which may be able to work as a temporary piston ring just to allow him to find out how many more problems there were. Hopefully he wouldn't have to use it, but seeing as he had already had this much trouble with them, he figured it couldn't hurt to have them available. Hopefully this time he wouldn't get kicked out.
