Accidental Meetings (Alex & Leon)
The apology came and Alex's expression didn't change. It felt awkward talking to this guy, especially after what happened. He didn't want to talk to Leon at all but he wasn't going to make a scene at this party. It was James's birthday party and he wasn't going to turn it into a shit-storm because he was pissed off at this guy using him. He wasn't satisfied with the apology though, and so he couldn't just toss it off that easily.
"Sorry for what exactly?" Alex said, "the fact that you used me? That you took me out on the night of a full moon, knowing that there were weres out there and then used my body as bait. Do you have any fucking idea how scary it is realizing you put your trust in someone that nearly cost you your body?" Alex felt there were a lot of things Leon should have taken into consideration. One being that Alex was unpracticed in his shamanism and another that he was a Standard. This wasn't some fellow Expert or even Advanced student he'd been playing games with but a kid who didn't even want to be there in the first place.
He didn't raise his voice though, and that was something for Alex. Because he was mad. "I don't forget shit like this, homes," he said, "because if it ain't me almost losing my body that I have a perfect memory of, it's what happened to you when your magic didn't work." And maybe that's part of why Alex didn't want to see Leon anymore. Seeing his face, with or without dreads, brought back memories of a living nightmare.
