Accidental Meetings (Alex & Leon)
"I was just wondering," Leon began, sensing the defensiveness in Alex's response, but what he said next made Leon's brows furrow with a flash of anger. "Yes. Yes I am glad you're not a vengeful spirit."
The anger cooled almost as fast as it came and Leon's tone changed, the vampire stepping back himself and correcting it. Lately Leon had been noticing how his temper flared up a lot faster than it had before. He didn't know if it was because of all the stress or the hunger or if what people were saying was true, and that he had inherited some of Andrei's temperament, but he wanted to control it. "Look, about that night, it was... I'm sorry for what happened." The way he said it was more like there was a 'but' hanging on the air, but Leon pressed his lips together and watched Alex.
He wasn't looking to be Alex's best friend or anything, but he did at least owe him that apology. He could accept it or not, but Leon knew he'd been wrong to use him without giving Alex all the information on what he'd been planning to do. Not that anyone had had all the information from the Voodooist that night, least of all the Standard.
