"Please," James rolled his eyes and turned his head to the side, focusing on the wall with Mr. Cavanaugh's strange things laying around on shelves. "Death threat? Let's not get overly dramatic here. That may be how Benjamin sees the world, but it was not the intent of the gift. It was merely a warning. Nothing more."
He looked at the banshee once again. "What will it be, then? Dungeon detention in a cozy cell? Or is my crime worse than Ben's?" He raised one eyebrow again. "You know what the students are saying, don't you? That he got off too easy for assaulting another student in a closet. A slap on the wrist and now he's back out among the humans again, left unsupervised in the hallways with them walking past the very closet he trapped one of them in to bite... and God knows what else.
"I will not have my name associated with someone of his moral character and questionable intelligence. If I'm to be punished for making sure that it's not, then so be it."
