Bert's lower lip pouted out a little as he thought on Ben's question. As he pondered what he should say and shouldn't say, Bert reached for his cocoa and took another long sip. Setting the mug back down, he looked back at Ben.
"Maybe the best way to approach the question is by starting with what not to do. The best policy is to never feed off of an unwilling human. That is where I myself draw the line. You must have some self-control, otherwise you get careless, you make mistakes, you get caught. And eventually... you won't make it."
Bert forced a smile. "But I've told you all that before. So... there is animal blood, like I mentioned. Bagged or live, and if you try enough different kinds, you may find some you really like. There's also bagged human blood. Much more difficult to get, but possible. If you have money. Stealing it is not the way to go. Again, if you get caught... you don't want to get caught." He didn't know if he should bring up the concept of willing humans. He knew that to be something the Headmistress would not approve of. Consent could be a tricky thing, could be manipulated by vampires with certain giftings.
