Bert felt hesitant as well. He knew Ms. Menides's stance on vampires and feeding and knew he shouldn't be expressing differences of opinion to the students, but he also felt that the Headmistress's stubbornness about her views could ultimately be harmful for some of the kids. If Bert were careful about it, maybe he could be a help.
"Yes, for one. Most fanglings haven't had the chance to try a variety of animal blood. Tastes vary, but some can be fairly decent, and filling." He'd have to give that idea some more thought to that.
"Of course, there's human blood, which most of us prefer." Not all, he knew, thinking of Valentin. "Blood bags of that can be obtained as well, though it's not as easy. I have a limited amount I can get sometimes." There were willing donors too, but Bert didn't feel quite safe bringing up that option. He knew that would not be tolerated at the school. He himself did feel the urge for warm, flowing human blood at times, but he knew a proper vacation would be the only way he could indulge in that. He'd hoped for one of those over the winter break, but it probably wouldn't be happening now, thanks to all the recent vampire events.
