Going Down: Mickey and James
"I see. That's a shame," James shook his head. "Well, good for you to come, anyway. I know some couples are impossible to separate." Actually, James was proud of Emily for stepping away from Oliver for the weekend, too. Sometimes relationships were disgustingly sweet.
"A race?" James smiled wider and chuckled. "Quickness isn't a problem. It's coming to a stop at the end." He looked over Mickey's stance on the board having no doubts that those strong legs could carve some snow like an Olympic athlete if he could stay upright. He pulled the goggles down over his eyes and gripped his poles.
"I'll be sure to be there to catch you."
And with that cocky statement and a grin, James pushed off the snow and began his descent again, gaining speed easily. Vampire reflexes were an unfair advantage. He easily dodged around another group of skiers who had fallen in his path.
