Going Down: Mickey and James
James was on skis, his snowsuit a blue and silver combination with orange tinted goggles and poles. He did not do much skiing in the past, but he knew the basics. Snowboarding, he'd been told, was easier than skis, but the restricting placements of his feet would only trip him up more and... it seemed like he wasn't the only one.
"They creep up on you, those bumps," he said with a chuckle as he pulled up to a stop near Mickey, poles dug in the snow to help slow him down and make the turning stop a tight one. It almost looked like he knew what he was doing. "I believe you're supposed to go over them, if I'm not mistaken."
James hadn't taken any particular notice of Mickey through his time at the school, but he had noticed that he was quite the fireball, and not just figuratively, if rumors were accurate. Even if they were slightly exaggerated, the talk in the locker room was that, before Mickey had gotten together with Leon, he'd gotten together with practically anything else that moved. What was it, James wondered, about one person that made them so appealing to not want or need anyone else? Monogamy had its mysteries, and James wasn't entirely convinced that monogamy was what Mickey was practicing with Leon.
For example, Mickey had come on this over night ski trip and left his boyfriend back at the Academy. James was curious as to why.
