Rob, open to Caleb and/or Kaden
This All Hallow's Eve had been much different than any other for Rob. The previous ones at St. Margaret's had been huge party days (and nights) for the half-giant. He would have anticipated this one to be the same, except even more crazy. It was his final year at the school, time to party without abandon. At least that had been his mindset before the nightmares, and the kidnapping, and the mines.
Post-mines Rob was a little more subdued, keeping to himself more. The smartass comments in class had ceased, as had the interpersonal problems he sometimes had with his peers. His teachers had an idea that his experience had brought abut some kind of change in Rob, and they let him be. Even with Halloween approaching, Rob hadn't done much to prepare, other than dutifully help decorate Ladon house. He helped with party preparations some, but let others do the planning. His mother, wanting to cheer him up some, handled his costume, making him an impressive Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man costume for later in the night.
When Rob was asked if he'd be going to see the ghosts rise, he agreed to, but hadn't anticipated how the event would effect him. His mind flashed back to the mines, to the hopelessness and helplessnesss and despair. He thought about how they could have very easily become part of this population of spirits here. Rob watched them begin to disperse, feeling a coldness settle on him that even the bonfire couldn't warm. He felt numb as some of the teachers and students began to leave. He turned from the site, beginning to trek back to Ladon.
