Ambriel closed his eyes briefly, letting the gust of wings wash over him. He cradled the rabbit close to him, his blue eyes fastening on the dragon again. "So you're nothing more to an animal."
The angel didn't believe that. Or he didn't want to believe it, which for Ambriel was kind of the same thing. He tipped his head haughtily to the dragon and said: "I do not believe that. You are an intelligent creature. I realize you have to eat, but killing this rabbit would be pointless. It would not even come close to satisfying your appetite."
Ambriel nodded. "It's easy to destroy. Mercy? Mercy is hard." And then, the angel bent forward, setting the hare on the ground.
