Ambriel raised the hare in the air, cooing at it and trying to get it to calm down. It would have a heart attack this way. "My Lord's actions sometimes seem monstrous," the angel said. "In the olden days, when He had more competition, he struck down cities and drowned lands simply because people were sinful. He was wrathful. Unkind. Monstrous, perhaps."
His blue eyes turned to Ashton. "But He had his reasons for that. I may not always understand His actions, but I know in my heart that His actions are just. He has great power, but He also great knowledge. You also have great power. But do you think about how you use it?"
Ambriel looked disdainfully at the field, seeing how the dragon had ravaged it. "Now, I ask again. This creature, small and innocent, why do you want it? What would you do with it? Are you hungry, or just bloodthirsty?"
