Jack closed his eyes, letting the song wash over him. It was pure melody, not anchored down by words. The song wavered and changed, going from a deep bass to octaves that were almost tonelessly high. The song sounded human and yet not, always skirting on the edge of the inhuman, of going so far as to be angelic.
Except, of course, for the longing the song stirred up. Jack felt the familiar hooks of desire latch onto him, kicking up memories of previous encounters, most of them long-forgotten. Jack took care not to let his emotions take over him, distancing himself and retreating into his banshee self.
Yes, there was definitely power there.
Jack sighed when the song was over, being quiet for a few moments before he opened his eyes. Get back into control. His dark eyes found Caleb's again. "Yes. I see. That is... potent." He crossed his arms, shifting on the desk. "If you want, I could teach you how to wield your song. See if you can make it stronger. Less strong. Would you like that?"
