"I do," Caleb said, raising the glass up and taking a sip, eyes on the rim as it lowered, not looking the professor in the eye. It was a weight on him, and Caleb didn't like the feeling. He could be strong for others, he could lead, but when he became selfish, he worried.
He took a second to feel the question out, to really look into himself. "Guilty, still," Caleb admitted. He frowned, looking up at his teacher. "My hopes were either I would catch the ear of a were and lead them here or..." The frown deepened. "I would leave a sea of human bodies killed by the trolls and warlock that would get attention from one outlet or another."
Caleb took a deep breath and leaned into the chair back. One hand gripped the glass as he drew the other through his hair. "I lacked control, sir. I gave into my nature for my own well-being and it frightened me."
