cressida/micah: first aid area
"Oh, well then." Micah chuckled, the sound moving from his chest. "Yes, of course. I knew that." He cleared his throat, feeling only a little bit foolish but able to laugh at himself. It was a nice relaxing moment to spend with Cressida after the tense drive and the even more tense moments inside the mine when they hadn't yet accounted for all of their students. They didn't know if some of them were dead or not, and it wasn't until Kaden had made the final sweep of the mine, leaving no stone unturned, that he'd been satisfied to call it cleared. Some things they found in there, not only the wizard's supplies, had surprised him.
Everyone had survived and though the scars would last a while, physical and emotional, it could have gone much worse. Kaden sighed and enjoyed the settling as students were packed into vehicles to begin the drive back to the academy and he glanced down only once more to see Cressida's work as she applied the salve to the jagged cut in his chest and down his side. It throbbed, but what she put on him made that pain start to numb, and he was grateful.
As she spoke again, Micah's head turned towards her and he did indeed take a breath to make a comment, assure her that he hadn't meant to step on her toes, so to speak, but she cut him off and Micah smiled.
"You're welcome. And thank you, too. You were very impressive, and I've seen my fair share of witches to know the difference between putting on a light show and doing some real magic. What you did in there," he met her look before chuckling again. "Well, Hydra is lucky to have you at its Head."
