Thread: Combining Forces
WHO: Valentin Graff and Ashton Hartley
WHEN: 11/27 [backdated]
WHERE: Hydra Dorm
Homework before a holiday. Worse, it was a project that was expected to be finished at the end of the holiday break and worse than that, each of the students of the physics class had been assigned a partner they were required to work with to complete it. Ashton's partner assignment had been a vampire. The dragon didn't have any qualms about partnering with a blood sucker. He hadn't yet, to his knowledge, offended any with his questioning or unintentionally (or intentionally) made any of them angry. But Valentin - this young vampire was a personality type that Ashton didn't have the first idea about dealing with. How could one be so optimistic and... cheerful?
Not only had Valentin annoyed Ashton during their classroom discussions about physics and matter and energy - topics that the black was interested in learning to better understand his own abilities - but it seemed the young vampire was incapable of being effected by his glower the way that others were. Of all the students in their class, he thought, the teacher had the brilliant idea that it a good plan to pair Ashton with Valentin. Ashton had to suppress a groan when the assignment had been made and partners were named.
Now he had come to better terms with the idea, but Ashton was reluctant to finally meet with Valentin and work one on one to complete their project. He had considered suggesting they meet on neutral turf - in the library, perhaps - but had nixed that idea and instead made the executive decision to tell Valentin to join him at House Hydra in the common room with all the supplies they would need to work on and complete their assignment. Hopefully, Ashton thought, they could complete it in one sitting and be done. Meeting in Hydra's dorm made Ashton feel slightly more at ease. He had Xanthippe here, and Barclay, though neither of those two got along. But they were there and so was his own room, should the need to retreat before he broke a rule become too strong.
Shrugging off the annoyance he already felt building inside of him, Ashton reclined back against the couch in the sitting area of Hydra's dorm, his books on the coffee table and some other items that would help expedite this project. He crossed his legs languidly at the knee, arms stretched across the back of the couch and green eyes locked on the entrance as he waited for the vampire to arrive in his domain.
