The Music Room: Jae & Davian
Davian was sleeping. Or he had been trying to. Whatever had entered the dining hall and started the screaming woke him with a start in the cupboard he had curled up in to sleep earlier that afternoon. He had laid still, coming out of his sleepy haze as more and more sounds erupted in other parts of the school.
Opening his mouth to ask himself what the fuck, Davian went still when he heard footsteps coming at a fast pace. Shit shit shit! Tensing up, unsure what to expect, Davian shrank back with a hiss when his hiding spot was discovered by the door being thrown open and, much to his surprise, Jae's petite form crawled in with him.
It was a good thing she covered his mouth, because Davian had been about to cuss her out, even as she crowded close to him in the small cupboard. He waited, frowning at her in the darkness, one arm one either side of her and their legs tangling up. She was shaking, he realized. Terrified by whatever it was "they" were.
A nervous twitch began in his tail as he shifted, reaching around her, one arm on either side of the girl, to catch the latch on the door and twist it to the side so that it wouldn't pull right open. It wasn't the greatest security feature, but it was something, and might dissuade whatever Jae was afraid of from finding her right away. Finding them. Goddammit, whatever it was, he was involved now and there was no escape in this tiny cupboard.
He waited and listened, glancing at her in the dim light that filtered through the cracks in the door, and then he heard footsteps again. These ones were heavier than normal footsteps and Davian had to pull Jae against him to edge closer to the door and peer through the crack.
"Motherfucker!" He blurted out in a hiss, jerking back after having laid eyes on a Demon Soldier entering the music room.
