"Different ability?" Ashton asked curiously. He'd head of Kana's brother coming to visit her, but had not met him. He assumed he was like her, a fiery fox. Kitsune, he knew they were called. As more questions bloomed in his mind, Kana continued, and Ashton's expression changed, altering into an angry look as his fingers wrapped around her wrist in either a protective or defensive hold.
"Abandoned you? Was she slain?" Though exposed to different family-type dynamics since his time in St. Margaret's, Ashton always first equated things to his own experience. His parents being slain by a Dragonslayer was his major motivating force propelling him through St. Margaret's so he could become strong enough to exact revenge on the ancestor of the one who had dropped the sword into his kin. Blake would die, Ashton was sure of it, especially with Barclay at his side helping see the end of the man. But others, like Kana, were creatures who could be hunted and slain. Ashton didn't like the idea of someone looking for Kana to end her life, and he growled.
