Thread: Solace WHO: Andrei, Mickey, Leon - and later, Daniel WHEN: August 5 WHERE: Infirmary
Even if he'd been resting in a coma-like state for the past week, Leon was exhausted. The mental toll mind walking took on him was always a strain, but especially when he killed while in someone else's body, not just borrowing their consciousness for a while. It was jarring when it ended. It had been years since he'd killed, but Leon remembered the recovery process all too well. After meeting with Ms. Menides, he was told that this was the last time he could count on the Academy's help to save him if he were to kill again.
Leon didn't think that then was a good time to work any 'buts' into the argument.
He was left with instructions to rest and build his strength and informed that he would be serving detention and receiving counseling. Leon could live with that. He was living with that. Without Ms. Menides and Mr. Pheres coming to take over his care, the wards he'd set up before leaving his mind would have worn off and the spirits would have been ready to pounce when his own soul returned to his body. The Headmistress had saved his life when he'd been prepared to die and Leon would agree to anything she determined he should do to repay that.
He was sleeping on his side, the quartz on the table continuing to hold the ward together that kept the spirits from him. It gave off a low hum of power and Leon didn't know if he was hearing it through his magic sense or with his physical ears, but it was a comforting white noise that meant he could rest easy. Leon still did not know what he was going to say to Mickey - much less the rest of the school - but he was following instructions to rest.
The Haitian/Cherokee boy had gotten thinner while he laid in a coma for a week and his darker skin had lost a lot of lively color, more pale now with better defined sinew and dark inked tattoos. The dreads he had redone just before leaving to return to the reservation were all tangled again, left loose and spidery over the bed. His sacred items had been retrieved for him and the altar and raven feathers with the small skull rested beside him. He had begun his daily rituals again, powering through the headaches in an attempt to mend his relationship with his gods. Leon needed their guidance and protection now more than ever with four powerful spirits lurking on the fringes ready to lay claim to his soul.
