Thread : Coming Clean WHO: Craig and Garrett WHEN: Monday WHERE: the woods near Garrett's home WARNINGS: some nightmare imagery NPCs: Davian, Ambriel, Garrett, mentioned in nightmare. And some skinny boys skinnydipping. It was the night before Craig and Garrett had left to go visit Garrett's family for a week that Craig decided he needed to tell him about the prophecy. It had been a nightmare, a really terrible nightmare, that had prompted his decision. He remembered it well, though he wished he didn't. In essence, his magic he'd tried with Davian had backfired and had caused anyone trying to help Craig, like Ambriel and Garrett, to die torturous, excruciating deaths, cursing Craig with their final breaths. Two more deaths that were Craig's fault. Claire's prophecy was still on Craig's mind, at least subconsciously. He couldn't help worrying about Garrett, and knew that wouldn't change anytime soon. It was time to tell Garrett and let him make his own judgment on it all.
The trip home to Garrett's family had been uneventful. They knew Craig, they'd had dealings with Craig's coven from way back, and they welcomed Craig into their home with open arms. Despite being warm and friendly toward him, Craig had been happy for the chance to get away with Garrett for a while, to explore the woods, go looking in the stream for river rocks to charm. The hike through the woods to the stream was just long enough that Craig had no doubt they were completely alone by the time they could hear the trickling of the stream and could see it's bank through the trees. He couldn't help feeling a bit of childlike excitement upon realizing they were there. He'd had some great memories of gathering up smooth stones from the riverbed with Garrett.
"Race you", he said with a grin, breaking a silence that had lasted the past several minutes. Craig began to run among the trees toward the water.
