PB: Margot Robbie
Team: Alpha
Role: Healer
Codename: Gemini
Powers:

• Healing Aura:

Any living organism within a 5M radius of her is granted accelerated healing while they maintain proximity. The closer they are, the faster they’ll heal. The energy is generated by her life force, which is ambient, not bodily contained. Too much can be syphoned from her if she’s surrounded by numerous subjects with extreme or lethal injuries.
• Ontopathogenesis (OPG):
More than just simple pathogens, bacteria, viruses and toxins, she can infect and alter the nature of a subject's existence. Her ability is a parasitic link on both a physical and metaphysical level to targeted organisms in a 30M radius. She saps and steals their strength, energy and consciousness in a temporary hive mind/condition, essentially seizing control and using them to her benefit (like the Cordyceps parasite infects ants). The greater number of thralls in her control, the more resources and energy she has available to share with allies. This destroys subjects over the course of 10-20 mins if she doesn’t release and heal them. OPG can be used in a targeted manner to speed rot, aging, radioactive decay, half-life, and decrease life span. If she’s feeling petty she can just give you the flu.
• Biokinesis:
Normal biological manip, with additions from her OPG. If Gemini takes too much damage or her energy is wholly depleted from excessive healing, her body dies. She’ll disperse her molecules in a cloud of highly toxic, virulent pathogens that infect and rapidly consume nearby subjects. Because her lifeforce is not corporal, she regenerates from the residual matter, completely renewed. She positions strategically to cause as much damage as possible when she does so, not above being a kamikaze when it’s beneficial.

Elizabeth Swannick is monumentally screwed up. The cruelty she endured before CPS took her at age nine resulted in Dissociative Identity Disorder, and a host of phobias and ticks. “Beth” is kind and feminine, friendly but cautious, introverted, jumpy and afflicted with unresolved guilt and trauma from her childhood. She genuinely wants to use her abilities benevolently, dislikes hurting people and is privately troubled when she has too. “Liz” is wild, boisterous, fearless, hypersexual, unapologetic, constantly pushing the boundaries of her abilities with little concern for consequence and tends to leave empathizing to her 'lesser half.' She also really loves to steal your stuff. Gemini switches between the two personas at unpredictable intervals. Both share a deep dedication to the program, and pride in their work. There is a rare, nameless third personality, as well. She never stays long.

So I'm apping two. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Lines are crack. Grabby hands for a few pals who tolerate her crazy, one in particular who has her figured out and can trigger the switch between personalities, people she freaks out, regular inferno partners, people she likes to experiment on, or who experiment on her, possibly one or two of Liz's brief past flings before they realized that's über ill-advised, and I'd love to have someone she goes to to get her head shrunk a bit now and then. open to everything, and all questions help!

I have Annavieve here who I think would make a good friend for Helix. She also was in Poltergeist for a little bit, though probably during a different time then Helix. I think she would tolerate Helix's craziness, probably would even enjoy her differences from others at Ghost corp. Morpheus isn't all that normal herself.

Hi there. This sounds great. Too much normal is overrated anyway, right? I'm sure they've had plenty of time to bond over the years, then. Does Morpheus communicate in any way other than American Sign, or would Helix have to have learned that?

I think she's been there long enough for them to have formed some kind of bond. That her preferred mode of communication. She carries a pen and notebook, but Anna really doesn't like communicating with others in that form. Morpheus would have appreciated it if she learned ASL so they could communicate more fluently.

Given that they've both been around for quite a while, if they're friends she would have learned to sign. Writing on a notebook every time you want to say something must be a drag. Beth is, as with all things, more patient with it than Liz, so may be more proficient in ASL than Liz, which could make for some funny moments.

Oh, pick me! Pick me! I got Onslaught over here and they would be roomies. He is pretty much your Deadpool, Tank for Alpha. He's abit crazy himself. He'll the the one who'd egg on her personalities.

Who's the other person you have/apping?

Aha roomies, yay! He's Deadpool minus the hate-fuckery-ed avocado face, so A+ four you, Onslaught. Please please poke at her personality split. I think Liz adores him and gives as good as she gets. Beth is probably exhausted, but still thinks well of him. Team is like family to her, and you don't always have to like family.

With the last healer retconned, do you have any thoughts for how long we want to say they've been roomed together?

Beth can be the one who tries to soothe his ruffled feathers? Be like his little Jiminy Cricket?

I think they'd know each other really well. He's been with Ghost Corps since '00. I see she's been there since '08. They'd have figured out each other's ticks, and the like. She'd fully be aware that he has voices in his head that talk to him, and will have full blown conversations with them/himself.

Jemima Cricket, maybe? But yes, she probably takes it as personal responsibility to try to chill him out when he's wired. Liz on the other hand probably microwaves popcorn, sets up soundtrack music and just enjoys the entertainment.

Word of warning, Liz has probably tried to climb in bed with him a few times. It's not personal, just proximity. Feel free to concoct any number of ways he could have knocked her on her ass, comical, embarrassing or otherwise. She's got next to no shame and Beth would just apologize profusely when she switched back. Oh, and did you want him to know how to swap the two? I think both he and Leah make sense for it.

Lol, yes exactly! He'd appreciate (even if he doesn't show/say it) Beth, but obviously will have more fun with Liz!

Depending upon his mood he'd either let her do her thang, or knock her on her ass. He will have the occasional night terror, so if she gets too close she may wind up with a hurry. He'd feel like 100% shit about it, too.

Yeah, definitely tell me the secrets!

Liz is way more fun, even Beth knows that!

She so doesn't need the encouragement of getting away with shit like that. The notion of her thinking she's gotten what she wants only to get knocked upside the head during a night terror cracks me up though, so this is all good. They both heal, so she'd probably sulk necessarily then just laugh it off.

M'kay so. There are two triggers. The seven notes to the chorus of Neil Sedaka's 'Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen' turns flips her in a few seconds. Basically one of the creepiest songs ever, it terrifies whichever personality is active into switching. He can whistle, play a tone or recording, it doesn't matter, so long as she hears it. It doesn't have to be musically accurate, the notes work just fine. The other is holding her left wrist like you would to take a pulse, thumb pressed on the artery for a few seconds. It's a little slower, but just as reliable. Stress triggers DID personality switches too, so if they get in a big roommate fight or something, she'll probably do a 180, but it's not a guarantee.

Lol, these two are gonna be so fun together. I feel like they feed on each other's crazy.

Is it this part," Tra la-la-la-la la-la-la-la Happy birthday sweet sixteen"? Either way, he'd have this song/tune on lock down.

I think so too. Feed the crazy, but kind of balance when absolutely necessary. It's good stuff.

Just the 'happy birthday sweet sixteen' bit. If he feels like tossing in the trills to really spin her head for whatever reason, go for it, lol. So his night terrors; some people should be woken up so they don't hurt themselves, others not. Where does he fall on that? Any other ticks and general crazy funtimes she should know about?

He'll sing the whole damn song, too! I mean, not every time, but whenever the mood is right for him. You never know with this guy.

I guess it's all up to her, and how bad of terror he's having. Sometimes he'll wake up before anything physical happens, then there could be times when even she can be like, "okay, wtf, you need to wake up".

Hmn. Well, he can't stand being toyed with, being made a fool out of. He also can't stand being spoken to telepathically. He's already got two voices in his head, he doesn't need an extra one. He is immune to intrusive telepathy/psychic attacks, though. There's really no tricks or anything to get him started. He's a wildcard in that sense. Beth can do her mother henning on him. His own mother died at five, often times has no memory of her.

Is there anything about Liz/Beth that he should know about that's not been said already?

But it's so awful! I don't even know what she'd do.

I guess it'll be dependent on how bad it is on a case by case basis, whether he's sleep walking and breaking stuff in their room, etc.

Alright. Well, Liz pranks him on the regular, but doesn't toy. She's not that patient. Elizabeth killed both her parents when she was nine. Technically, they caused it, but Beth still feels responsible. So parents aren't a subject she'll touch much. She's severely claustrophobic, is a lot more bothered when people treat her like a freakshow than she lets on (even Liz) and might have major problems with some of the Juliets with abusive priors. She hates the smell of cigarettes and chemical cleaners. I think that covers any roommate 'need to knows.'

They will have all the prank wars. He's not really family oriented either. His mother died when he was five, and then his drunk/abusive father came back from the military. I originally was going to have Adrian snap, and kill his father, but instead made him join the military fresh out of high school. He's got a mad case of PTSD from his life ventures.

I want Adrian to have like a weird phobia because I know Deadpool is supposed to be deathly scared of cows/cattle. I just think it's amusing. This guy, who can't die is scare of a fuckin' cow. He doesn't smoke, so that's all good.

Oh, and on missions, be prepared for singing, and dancing because that's how serious he takes life and his job. He fancies 90's music, like obsessed pretty much.

Yeees prank wars. Sounds like they had a similar Dad. Was he sorta crazy from childhood or picked up the lunacy later in life?

Oh oh! Lemme help. Because yes, the cattle thing is a riot. These are great. My vote's for Anatidaephobia. She may or may not keep a rubber duck around for when he's getting on her nerves. Kidding. That's awful. She wouldn't. K, Liz might a little. I think Helix has Papaphobia, too. Because a fear of the Pope is glorious.

She loves the singing, so no complaint from her. As long as she can make this the legit official theme song of their dorm room. So perfect. XD

I will go ahead and comment here for both (all "three?") of your girls here!

I don't have any Bravos, but I do have a Foxtrot who'd room on the same level as Cortana. That's Reaper here, who also runs the morgue and controls the dead. Generally creeps out everyone, but she tries her best not to, really! She comes across as a generally nice, friendly person, though it's mostly facade. She likes to fantasize about dissecting some of her teammates to see how they tick, but that's not something she shares with the class. :)

Leah [info]steelyeyed is the most important of mine for Helix, since she's her handler. I would looove for her to be the one who can trigger the switch between personas, and Leah would also love that lol. As a handler, she constantly pushes her supers' boundaries and pushes them to be better than they are. She'll make sure Helix has plenty to have to heal, even if Leah has to cause the damage herself. Onslaught heals himself, so that'll probably fall on Backlash. She won't have too much interaction with Cortana.

Blitz [info]smoothasglass is my other Alpha, a damager and Backlash's brother/roommate. He could totally have been a brief past fling who dropped her when he realized the crazy. Nowadays he's only down to one fwb anyway, Pixie. He's a pretty friendly, outgoing guy who'd get along well with Helix (or at least, half of her?) and Cortana both, and wouldn't mind playing some video games with Cortana during his Nirvana time.

Medic [info]needamedic is my Echo healer. Big old grouch, Grumpy Cat in the flesh, has been in the program for something like 26 years now and was turned in by his parents as a kid. He'll grump at both girls indiscriminately because that's just how he is, though he'll probably be less irritable with Beth than with Liz, and Cortana would be somewhere in the middle because dance parties make him :|. Just like everything, though, really. XD

Livewire [info]superconductive is my Juliet damage and unstable herself. I think she and Helix could either get along very well or hate each other, or alternate between the two with mind boggling frequency (which is more fun~). She's a bit like Liz but maybe with more violent tendencies and a criminal record she'd love to expand. She'd probably hit on both Helix and Cortana, would happily join in on Wet Floor dance parties and probably try to turn it into something less appropriate, and would jump between friendly and moody in a heartbeat.

I've got a sixth I'll probably be holding in the next few days who'd get along especially well with Cortana, but I have to wait on her. :D

Three, yes. Haha! :)

Reaper - Helix would be fascinated by her and her abilities. She can't bring people back, but her thralls are basically short term zombies, so she's not creeped out at all. And she basically kills herself as a modus operandi, so yeah. Definitely not creeped. I think Liz would like her a lot more if she knew Reaper had a dissect-y urge. Certain is creeped.

Leah - Awesome! I think Onslaught (above) may be able to trigger her if they've roomed together for a while and get along, we'll have to hash that out. I'd love to have Leah be able too, as well, though! It'd help Helix out a lot. Beth is the healing ace. Liz is much better at massive damage when needed in a bind, or when asked too in practice. She can make that choice for herself fairly well at this point, but would defer to Leah's judgement in the field if she sees something Helix doesn't. That doesn't mean she'll love being moved around like a marionette (I will though!) but she'll listen.

Blitz - Cortana's collecting game frands, she's all for that. A brief awkward thing with Blitz could be a funny reference now and then, so that works for me.

Medic - Boo, buddy. Liz is bored. Beth however, probably has a soft spot for him, Grumpy Cat and all. Cortana won't be dragged down by anyone who frowns at dance parties, but she'll be polite.

Livewire - This could be fun. I vote for alternating. I think Liz will think of her as a badass kindred spirit pal, even though Liz has never gotten murder-y outside of her orders. She's not judgey about that though. Beth is though, very much so. She'll give Livewire (and probably most of the Juliets) a wide berth and do a lot of head shaking. Liz is totally cool with the flirting, too. Cortana doesn't mind but will probably just laugh it off. She's welcome at the wet floor dance parties any time!

Aha! I'll keep an eye out for her, I'd love to plot with them if you're game. Thanks for the response! :D

Helix/Reaper/Gorgon on a mission together would be some crazy stuff. Three women and their armies, just saying...

Even if someone else figured out the trigger before she did, Leah would get it out of them. *cough* She likes being able to command compliance out of her supers by any means necessary. As long as Elizabeth and her personalities follow orders, they should get along well enough!

Love the rest of it! ♥

I went ahead and held her because I'm weak. She's Ink. Also, good song for Cortana or just in general.

This needs to happen at some point!

Makes sense to me. Liz/Beth aren't resistant, exactly, but one or the other can be more beneficial, so she should know. There are two triggers. The seven notes to the chorus of Neil Sedaka's 'Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen' turns her around in a few seconds, flat. Basically the creepiest song ever, it terrifies whichever personality is active into switching. Leah can whistle, play a tone or recording, it doesn't matter, so long as she hears it. It doesn't have to be musically accurate, the notes work just fine. The other is holding her left wrist like you would to take a pulse, thumb on the artery.

Ah, I love it! Felicia Day is adorable.

Yes!

Leah would probably stick with the audible trigger because she can use it at a distance, such as during missions while she's monitoring their progress and can't be physically there. She's probably taught herself to master whistling just so she can get it right.

[info]psychomachy

They both have their uses. Having Leah be able to do so remotely and someone on the team that can locally without making sound keeps it balanced. Beth would have been impressed that she learned to whistle just for that. She's got a lot of respect for Leah, I think. Liz just thought it was funny that she didn't know how to whistle. (Eye roll)

Ethan grew up in the program and has his own hardcore loyalties to it, so depending on how their timelines overlap I'd love for he and Helix to have been friends from Poltergeist days! Hi there! Helix was brought to the program in 1999, and was transferred to GC duty in 2008. If they grew up together she'd be super loyal and probably a bit attached to him - at least Beth would be, she's a good soul. Liz is a little less dedicated to people in favor of her own enjoyment. I'm up for friends if the time works!

He was transferred in 2001 as soon as he turned 18, but that could still have given them a couple of years! If she was brought in as a child when he was a teenager, he would have tried to help her settle in and looked after her, and tried to do the same when she got to this facility.

Backlash is on Alpha and they share a handler, so they'll know each other! He's kind of like the obnoxious big brother who gives advice when it isn't wanted and pokes at people's buttons for fun and sometimes has fun ideas that makes his pain in the ass-ness worth it. He'll keep an eye on Liz/Beth especially, because healers are important and Alpha needs to keep theirs!

[info]whosthere will be fascinated with Liz/Beth once he realizes that she is in fact two people. I don't think he has been around long enough to realize it, so maybe it can be something he figures out in game!

[info]gorgonn is kind of in a sassy I'm a brat mode right now, but I think she and Beth would be able to make friends if they got to know each other in the right setting/way. I don't think she'll get along with Liz as well, which could make for some interesting confusion!

[info]pixieled is deeply dedicated to GC and has pride in her work too, but she has been in the program for a while and probably knows about Liz/Beth. I think she keeps her distance, though Liz could make for a fun bad influence on occasion, maybe!

Liz pokes buttons back just as, or harder than most, so she won't mind. She won't be a big fan of him keeping an eye on her. Beth appreciates it.

Who can have all the things. Something in game along that line could be fun.

I think Beth might try to 'big sister' her, given Gorgon's situation, but not in an obnoxious button pushy way. She's in a tough transition. Liz thinks she should buck up and get over it.

Liz/Beth are aware of each other, and Beth knows it's not normal, so she gets when people are standoffish. Doesn't mean it doesn't sting a little, but she gets it. Liz is a steamroller and doesn't care, so yes, she'll probably try to coerce Pixie into questionable fun now and then, as she does most people.

Off the top of my head, Beth might have a major soft spot for Preston because he comes across as a good man and isn't impolite. She appreciates all of Hunter's charm but yikes all those murders. Liz probably likes Hunter a whole lot more. I have three characters [info]pleasureandpain, Lila, can bestow powers onto humans or supers at her whim but it's her most complicated (and useful) ability so it takes the most out of her and she generally only uses it at the discretion of the agency. Her secondary powers are pleasure and pain inducement. She can use her bare hands to provide one of two things: either blindly, debilitating pain (like 10 on the pain scale) or overwhelming pleasure, up to and including instantaneous orgasm. She doesn't have much control over her secondary power, except that she can pick and choose which to use but for now only has the one setting so she's probably training to be able to emit only small doses of either one. She's Wildcard #1 on Foxtrot. Personality wise, she's sneaky and opportunistic and basically a Slytherin. She's not above trading commissary purchases or other gifts for the usage of her first pleasure inducement. I don't want to call it a prostitition ring, but only because everyone keeps their clothes on, haha.

I also have [info]tothegunshow who is a handler for team Alpha (maybe she was on his team under him before? so they'd know one another?) He's quiet and gruff but kind of fluffy underneath it all. He cares more than he lets on, and fights hard to make sure the supers are treated as well, often going out of his way to request special favors and priviliges. Just be respectful and you'll be on his good side even if he seems like he doesn't like you he probably does.

Finally, there's [info]sirenslure. She can control people with her voice, so because of this she doesn't speak but she does have the ability to let other people hear her thoughts so she technically doesn't need to. Nessie is really sweet and fragile, doesn't draw much attention to herself and is very warm. She's a talented artist and an excellent listener for obvious reasons.

I'm open for anything you'd like but I think Liz and Lila would get along famously, as would Beth and Nessie.

Liz digs the pleasure/pain inducement, and thinks Lila should just call it what it is. Prostitution ring one woman show.

Liz probably tries to provoke and toy with Dean because he's a big softy. Beth is polite and apologies for her in advance.

I agree on both counts! I think Beth would particularly like Nessie. She'd love all the artwork. Helix in general is not at all artistic so she appreciates it in others. It's like an alien ability she's sort of envious of.
