It was out there. He had told the people who mattered most that he'd planned on asking Rosie out on a proper date. They'd been doing whatever it was they were doing on and off for a few years now and it was just... time. Fabian hadn't really dated much those years anyway, it had always felt wrong. But the morning after the full moon, when Rosie had passed out from exhaustion in his arms? He'd known then that he wanted to ask her. But he'd chickened out. He really had so very little experience. And what if she had said no?
With the night off from work and all of his class assignments finished early, Fabian had planned to spend the night at the bar while Rosie worked. Perhaps afterwards, a trip up to her flat above the bar. He just wanted to spend more time with her, especially while she wasn't exhausted and hurting. Fabian just wanted to see her being her normal, smiley and lovely self.
Entering the bar, Fabian took a seat at the counter and ordered a firewhiskey from the girl working tonight. "Can you send Rosie over when she gets a minute?" He probably didn't even have to ask. There hadn't ever been a time when she had avoided him when he walked into the bar.
