Sif - The Black Blades of Asgard ([info]bladesofasgard) wrote in [info]spinningcompass,
Sif & Thor; Engagement
Unknowable or not, in the history of time spread across the Nine Realms and even beyond, there had never been, nor would there ever be a more perfect moment. Those that shared it on the fringes of her awareness- the women, the expectantly giggling child- for the moment only part of the gorgeous background fabric. Nothing in existence had a piece of her attention or happiness, all of it centered on the brilliant blue and honest eyes she had loved for so long.

Sif's hands had been at her sides the whole time, tingling and numb. They curled in on themselves as he finished, waiting those excruciating few seconds of silence to make absolutely sure she was not dreaming. She listened to the breeze in her dress and in her hair, and to the thump of her heart in her ears. It was real... Her dream was real.

Then the brilliant smile bloomed across her face, ear to ear and beaming brighter than the Ivory Towers themselves, and both hands lifted toward him, palms turned up in offering, beckoning his in symbolic and literal gesture; to help him up from his knee, to hold him firm when his balance was precarious. To welcome him Home, for always.
