Having spent his previous afternoon lingering near the shore once Juliet had convinced him the island would not swallow him up, fish for him, or kill him in any regard, Cristiano had enjoyed himself. He also enjoyed his lady company. Juliet and Kytana had been a blast, taking his mind off of his troubles for a while. Of course as night settled and he hurried them off to where ever it was they went, he explored and moped. It was very lonely on the ocean floor without his friends or the girl's. At several points he considered going after their direction to see if he could find them but was too much of a coward to go that close to land.
He fished for himself and found some sort of contentment in the quiet and lull of the ocean and animals that drift by. He even found a sunken ship, which for the night he had made his home. In the morning Cristiano went for a hunt and found another fish to eat, which he enjoyed while lurking just above the surface where he could see the buildings in the distance on land. The air felt so thin to his lungs, so unused to breathing it, that he did not like it much. Of course, he considered if he were to spend more time with his blonde ladies or go nearer the dry sand he would need to get used to it. Perhaps...not at this moment.
Breakfast swallowed he swam off and away from his sunken ship and in the direction the girl's had gone the day before. He wouldn't get too near the land but he was curious as to what was over there. Maybe he would find that other mermaid they had mentioned. Kytana's mother? Hm. An elder would certainly be better off explaining the situation at hand--not that he did not trust Juliet or Kytana...he was just too wary. His guard training told him to get all of the facts, or to follow the proper order. File paperwork here. Turn in this for a stamp there. Get your ticket over there...Really, working for the royal guard was just a lot of directing people to their various offices. Boring.
