Who: Mary Ellen and Everyone What: Bonfire Party Where: on the beach When: backdated to May 5, evening Status: Open/Multiple threads encouraged
Mary Ellen had been working on the fire for a while before she'd invited the others to join her. She made it as big as she could manage without worrying about it falling, then dragged some larger logs and chunks of driftwood around to put them in a wide circle, then put up her post once it was all set. She realized as she was lighting the fire and her phone was still going off that she probably hadn't set up enough logs for the number of people who were interested, but she figured some would bring things to sit on and if not they could find more or just sit in the sand. She hadn't realized how popular this might be.
Once she'd lit the underside of the fire she sat back on a log and buried her feet in the sand as she picked up a small hunting knife and started peeling the bark off half of each of the branches she gathered to roast the marshmallows with, sharpening one side of each a bit as she waited for everyone else.
