It probably was a good thing she decided to avoid going to the bakery and seeing people that day. Sook had enough of pressing questions and people blaming her for every little thing. It was good to crank up old tunes from her Gran's collection and blitz through cleaning the living room, kitchen, bathrooms... every nook and cranny had been spotless.
She was just about to go upstairs and soak in her bathtub when she heard footsteps coming from the living room with the fireplaces, heavier footsteps than she recognised. Sook's hands gripped a cast iron pan and crept in the doorway to see who had broken into her home.
