We need to talk.
Thomas got the message several hours after it had been sent, likely, because technology regularly failed around Harry. He was surprised it had even worked though, late though it was. So he got into the car, drove back into the city and around to Harry's lonely apartment. It figured. It really did. But whatever, Thomas wasn't going to question it because Harry seemed to like it for whatever reason. So he knocked on the door and was admitted with surprising speed. He crossed the threshold, turned to look at his brother--
And wham! Harry punched Thomas right across the face and sent him stumbling backward a pace or three.
"Christ, Harry!" Thomas swore, touching his face gingerly as he righted himself, only to be shoved forcibly into the nearest wall, the wizard's anger spilling over tenfold with the power of the Knight behind him. It burned in his eyes that glittered like ice. Thomas let him, he could have gone head to head with Harry but having a show-down with a taxed and straining Winter Knight wasn't on his to-do -list. But he also didn't step down or show any weakness, but met those smoldering eyes with his own.
"What's your problem?" he asked, and Harry shoved him harder into the wall.
"You hurt her," he growled.
"Hurt who? What?" he asked, confused, dazed and not knowing why Harry had hit him.
"Briseis. You went in there, ate a piece of her and spit her back out for good measure, you asshole."
Reality sank in and Thomas looked at Harry in mild surprise. She told him? Super. He didn't deny it though. He just looked down and shook his head.
"She wanted to become a regular meal, Harry," he said, quiet. "She offered to let me feed on her without understanding what that meant. I had to show her."
Harry punched Thomas again, for good measure, and mostly Thomas let him do it because he saw it coming a mile away. He sank to the floor and clutched his nose where it had broken, grimacing in pain. Harry stood over him for a moment looking at him with disgust.
"Do you know who Briseis is?" he asked. No one read as much as Harry did, apparently. But when you're stuck without TV and computers you really turn to classics in literature to fill your time. "You could have just said no, Thomas, you didn't have to rip her to shreds and make her feel stupid. You're an asshole."
Thomas looked up at Harry and then away. "She didn't believe that I was a monster."
"So you forced her to see and said cruel things. That doesn't make it right. That doesn't make it okay. She's just a girl."
Harry glared, then extended his hand to pull Thomas to his feet. They stood there for a moment in silent reproach. But no matter how bad it got, or how ugly their lives were they were still brothers and they loved each other as brothers did. They understood one another. It didn't mean they didn't also really freaking hate each other sometimes.
"If you hurt another girl, or anyone for that matter, I'm going to blow you into pieces and scatter what's left of you from the top of Stark Tower," Harry said, and Thomas believed him.
