The girl, usually all too happy to be carried around on her mother's hip reached and wiggled and made the grunts she usually did when she was desperate to be let down. Spotting what her daughter wanted, Dite paused in her walk with John and set their girl down, only keeping one of her little hands in hers as they walked closer to one of the piles of snow. Like her parents, Izzy wasn't particularly good at being quiet when she had an opinion, or was curious about something and she was very curious about the snow, babbling as she inspected the white stuff.
"Ooh!" Izzy flapped her arms a little, still holding to Dite. "'No!" She declared, doing her best to say 'snow' but having difficulties with her s' still. "'No!"
"Yeah," Dite crouched down beside her daughter so they could be closer to eye level. "Snow."
The girl looked at the snow and then over at John, pointing at him before bouncing a little. "Dada. Snow!"
"Did you tell Dada about the snow?" She smiled and reached out to adjust one of the pink barrettes that was threatening to come loose in her daughter's blonde curls.
"Izzy." She bounced again. "'No."
"Do you want to touch the snow? You can touch this snow." Dite smiled warmly, sure her heart was going to burst. She was just glad that John was here for it, he needed these sweet moments more than he would admit. Izzy got a determined look on her little face and crouched down as low as she could, reaching out to touch it with her fingertips. She touched it then opened and closed her hand like she was trying to figure out the texture. "How does it feel?"
The girl looked up at her mother and smiled, letting out a giggle before digging both hands into the snow. "Whoa!" She opened and closed her hands again before looking up at her mother and pointing at the snow. "Mummy!"
Taking both of her hands she gathered up some snow, she pressed it between her palms and a moment later revealed that she had magically created one large snow flake, handing it over to her daughter to eagerly took it.
Once she had it in her hands, she stared at it, really taking it in. "Eee! Mummy!"
"Yes, Izzy?"
She lifted the snowflake like she was showing it to her. "Eee!"
"What is that?"
The question seemed to stump her for a moment and she made a motion like she was going to put it in her mouth before looking to her mother. "'No!"
"Mmhmm, snow."
That made Izzy bounce and giggle a little. "Eee, 'no! 'Noooo!" She crushed the snowflake and threw what was left of the snow up into the air.
