Paperweights. He had been staring at the tesseract for a good while now. For years now he had built his power around them and hadn’t honed his own. Had he made a fatal mistake? There was so much more out there - there was also so much more inside of him. It wasn’t the only thing on his mind. Of course not… Sylvie, Mobius and that giant terrifying statue.
He hated it when that happened. Suddenly having a whole aspect of his life added. But it wasn’t just like that. It was a new branch. An alternative. He had lived three lives now and sometimes it seemed that they caught up with each other. No, not each other. He never remembered anything in his home world. A pang of guilt rushed through him. He had forgotten everything and had fallen in love with a variant of himself as if nothing here had ever mattered.
His hair was shorter now. The only giveaway that something had happened. It was an odd cacophony in his mind. Old memories mixing with new ones. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with it all so he remained seated at the kitchen table. His coffee had grown cold. The toast on his left untouched. Should he tell anyone? Or should he just keep quiet?
