With one last stolen kiss on his lips, Romeo dropped silently to the ground below Juliet's window, and escaped unseen to meet his fate. Punishment was delivered swiftly, and soon he found himself outside of Verona's walls, confused and disorientated by the rough-handed banishment. Titles and family names and money meant nothing now - he were nothing but a common criminal to the Prince's men.
And what, exactly, was he meant to do in this strange new land? He hadn't wandered far by the time he came across the portal and stepped through, unaware that any sort of remarkable shift had taken place. He could feel the breeze against his tear-soaked cheeks, and if he had cared to pay much attention to his surroundings he would've discovered many a beautiful site and sound there.
By now, he had made his way down to the beach, and sat himself down upon the sand to stare out at the sea in front of him. Waves rolled in, birds dove in and out crying to each other, and in the distance he could see some men preparing to fish. Perhaps he ought to go and ask for some work if he hoped to survive long out here in...
He frowned deeply, and then took a deep breath. Salt, and not just from his tears. But wait - Mantua was surrounded by man-made lakes, more than a days journey to the coast. This was not where he was meant to be. He wiped his face roughly, and got to his feet - he found the first person he could.
"Buongiorno a te. Che posto รจ questo?"
