"No," Bucky answered. He might be blunt and he hoped it wouldn't make her cry again, but she asked what he thought and it was the truth. "Higgs is gone and I don't think we can go back. If we can't go back there's no helping them. We just hope the ones who went had enough information to do it themselves."
Maybe it was cruel of him, but he couldn't dwell on what was there. Things they had no way to change or influence anymore. And he might not have been happy here, right now, but he didn't want to go back anyway. He had nothing left there and at least here he wouldn't die from malnutrition.
