His head was getting sorer by the second, and he winced at the sound of the voice. But it did let him know where he should look towards, even with the heels of his hands pressed against his eyes. The bright whiteness had faded to blackness and his eyes felt like they were burning.
"Sarah... worked out I'm not her husband. She pushed all the lights as bright as they could go and now I'm blind."
He took his hands down from his face and looked around, as if his eyes would heal from what just happened in a couple of minutes. They had not. They were almost streaming tears as they tried to flush out whatever was making them feel like they were burning, and there was no difference no matter what direction he looked in. No hints of light in the distance or deeper shadows where there should be any, nothing. Just blackness.
"I need to get out of here before she tells people," he said, biting back on the panic that was tugging at him, and started towards the elevators
