He'd been awake, barely, stumbling back from the bathroom towards his bed on the Station, when he'd stood on something painful. He yelped, hopped away from whatever it was, and bent down to pick it up. It was a couple of green lego bricks, which was weird since he didn't own any legos. That was the point where his stomach started to tighten in on itself, not quite fear or grief just yet, but definitely heading that way.
And then he looked up and around himself, and he nearly shut down.
Oh fuck.
He was in Georgie's room. His little brother's circus lamp sat on the bedside table, the wallpaper was covered with cartoon animals, there were cuddly toys were scattered all over the floor where they'd been dropped, and kid books were shoved into the bookcase all higgledy-piggledy. The view out the window was Bill's old back yard. The wardrobe would contain all of Georgie's clothes (except for the jumper and jeans he'd been wearing on the day he died, of course) and the toy chest in the corner would have all his toys in it, a mix of baby toys he hadn't quite outgrown yet, toys he'd "borrowed" from Bill, and his legos. It was the perfect bedroom for a six year old boy, and Bill hated it.
It took almost a minute of staring to realize that he wasn't in the room on his own. There was someone on the bed, and it wasn't Abra.
A hesitant step closer revealed that it was Jessica from the Station. Dan's friend. Okay. Something told him not to get too close when he was waking her, so he didn't question it and stayed where he was.
"Excuze me, Jessica? H-h-hello?" he managed, and then he stopped. This couldn't be happening, it was not happening, fucking hell, the Old Man had fixed this!
