"Well, it's good to have something to look forward to at work," he teased, trying his best to ignore the way that Q was looking at him. "Yes, I can imagine that must get very tiresome after a while," he smiled. It was surprisingly easy to flirt with him. It didn't feel forced or uncomfortable, even if it was completely inappropriate.
James didn't even find the silence to be awkward. It was strangely pleasant, just walking hand in hand with him as he finished his cigarette. If one could ignore the circumstances, which he could- it wasn't exactly the worst situation they'd ever been in together. And he was okay- he would be okay, at least.
Q's words took him by surprise, and he turned to give him a curious look. He was silent as he thought about it- at first, there was the 'we', identifying himself and Samir as a unit. But then it changed to 'I', and it seemed to give an entirely different picture. Something that wasn't just about a convenient pleasure.
"I would say- I think we should get you cleaned up, fed and rested before you exert yourself with those kinds of suggestions," he responded, rather evasively. It wasn't a decline, but it probably wasn't quite as definite an answer as Q was looking for, either.
