Hunting down a missing person in the middle of the night wasn't outside James' area of expertise. He'd been happy to give Samir some space, following at a short distance. He was armed, of course- he was ready for anything. He'd fallen very easily back into his role- letting the other man do the tracking, and being prepared to pull a trigger for him at less than a seconds notice. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. Maybe it would. As long as they got Q back alive-
And then Samir was off like a shot, and James can only assume he's picked up a scent. He started to run with him, but being simply human, he was a good distance behind him, and it took him more than a moment to catch up again.
Once he did, and he could see that it was Q, alive, he couldn't help but smile. Thank God. He let them have their moment, and took the time to give the area a quick sweep for danger. They were alone. Checks done, he moved a little closer, and gave Q an almost curt nod, that really in no way expressed the depths of his emotions.
"Q," he greeted him simply, tucking his gun away for the time being.
