Darcy couldn't help but laugh, even if it pained him to do so. There were some things that a child could just get away with saying, and it would still be adorable. "That's very true. Maybe we can play a silly trick on her next time," he suggested. They often did- nothing awful, nothing harmful, but the sort of thing that would have even their mother trying to keep a straight face as she lightly scolded their silliness.
"Of course you can, little sister," he assured her, reaching out to gently pat at her hair for a moment. He really wished he wasn't injured so that he could give her a reassuring cuddle, but he would have to settled for that.
