WHO:  Tony and open!
WHERE:   One of the pools on the station.
WHAT: Arriving, possibly surprising someone.
WARNINGS:  None.

As Tony swam, it quickly became apparent that these were no longer the tunnels on the SeaQuest.   Those tunnels had been designed for Darwin, the vessel's resident dolphin.   These tunnels were bigger, looked all wrong and as he passed by a window - he could swear he saw stars outside instead of the ocean.   What the hell kind of wrong turn had he taken?   Had aliens taken him back to Hyperion?  Damn.  Last time, he'd lost some good friends and spent ten years in a coma before being returned to Earth.

Eventually he found his way to a pool and swam up to the surface quickly, spotting someone nearby.   They didn't look like the aliens from his past.  And if they were shape-sifters, they hadn't taken the form of anyone he knew.  Good.  Not trying to trick him.   "Hey. Nice digs you got here.  And uh, where is here?"

Rachel hadn't gone through to Cuba today. She'd gone up to the park to check on her hellhound, and then taken a walk along the river until she'd arrived at one of the pools. She was still very sore from where she'd broken her rib, so she'd picked one of the rocks at the edge of the pool to sit on for a rest. She'd left her shoes at the shore, and was letting her feet dangle in the water when someone popped up out of the water, and it wasn't Rohan or any of the other Mers.

"OH MY GOSH!" she yelped in surprise as she jumped, and almost instantly grabbed at her sore side. "Oh... oh, ow, You... you're new."

"Oh, geez.  I didn't mean to scare you.   I ain't even sure how I got here.  I know I saw through some tunnels, but I don't remember getting in these tunnels."   Tony was very new to wherever this was.   Figuring it out could wait.  Don't scare the locals was a big rule when working with the U.E.O.  and not hurting people, who didn't deserve it, was an even bigger personal rule.  "Are you okay?"

She kept her arm wrapped around her side, and took as deep a breath as she could manage. "I'm okay, I'm okay, thanks," she said with a smile as she got to her feet and stood ankle-deep in the water. "My name is Rachel, and you've been brought to a space station. Everyone here was brought here, but we don't know who's doing it, I'm afraid. And we don't know where we are in space, either." As if to underline her point, she gestured up above them both at the starscape they could see through the clear roof.

"What's your name? Can you come out of the water?" she asked, and quickly checked on Gen and Lucy, letting them know where she was and what had just happened. She didn't think this new guy would do anything, but old habits died hard.

Tony felt a bit skeptical.  She didn't look okay.  He knew he was a stranger; he didn't expect her to want help from him.  He smiled back and glanced up. At least with Hyperion, this wasn't a completely new situation to him.  "Not knowing's not so bad. It beats being dropped down in the middle of an alien war zone."

"I'm, Tony, ah, Warrant Officer Anthony Piccolo."   She didn't look like navy.  Neither did Darwin or Dagwood, or Lucas.  It didn't hurt to be careful.  "Yeah, I can come out.   Just so you know, I got gills."   His wet suit had been designed with holes for the gills while swimming.  He made his way out of the pool, staying back from her so he didn't drip water onto her.   "Are there any towels around here?"

"I wouldn't want dropped down in any war zone, alien or not," Rachel commented, and took a couple of steps back to shore.

She couldn't help but look at his gills, especially after he'd mentioned them himself, but then she stopped that and looked up at his face. "It's lovely to meet you, Tony. And there are towels, just not here right now, I'm afraid. If you want, I could ask if someone can bring some up here?" she offered, fishing her phone out of one of the pockets in her dress.

"Yeah, it wasn't my idea either.  I would have preferred some place tropical.  Or a good casino."   Tony replied.  The alien war was a year ago.  Or eleven years ago, depending on one's perspective.   On his world, anyone seeing the SeaQuest logo on his wetsuit would know the story.   And she looked human enough.

"Nice to meet you too, Rachel"    Tony gave a nod.  "Yeah, I'd like that if it's not too much trouble."   He could shake like a dog until he was dry; he might have done that in front of his friends.   It wasn't the best way to greet a stranger though.

Nodding, Rachel sent a quick message to her friends, asking if one of them could bring up a few towels for a new arrival. "I've never been in a casino before, and I've never met anyone who liked being in a war zone," she commented as she typed, and then hit send. "There. Hopefully, someone will be up soon with some towels for you. What aliens were you fighting?"

"Never?  That's a shame."   Tony commented.  "Are you not old enough or there's none around here?"   Because he couldn't think of another reason someone would deprive themselves of the chance to at least see Vegas, or whatever was closest to Vegas, at least once.

"No one likes being in a war zone.  Even the guys that think they're going to like it, they'll get honour and all that stuff, they don't like it.  It's a big ball of suck."   He had signed up for his family, and stayed in for his friends and to help the future.   The fighting had been necessary, but never enjoyable.

"I was on SeaQuest during the Hyperion war."  He answered, not realizing that wouldn't make sense to anyone not from his universe.    "We stopped the KrayTaks and gave the locals back their world."   It had come at a high price though, with many of his crewmates killed.

"There aren't any casinos around here that I know of, although I haven't explored all of the station and... I grew up in a war zone, so yes, it's a big ball of suck with no casinos." Rachel smoothed her dress down while she spoke, before looking back up at Tony. His explanation of his war made little sense to her, but then again, if she tried explaining how her war had been waged against one evil magic man in a tower, he'd probably jump straight back in the water and try to swim back to his home.

"I've never heard of SeaQuest or the Hyperion war, I'm afraid. But I'm guessing you were a good guy?"

Tony was about to list all the benefits of gambling, when she said she grew up in a war zone.  "Damn.  Sorry about that."   He'd seen war, but not as a kid.  She looked about the right age to have grown up when the Alliance of Macronesia was forming.  Maybe that was it.  Though her accent seemed wrong for that area.

"I did my best."   Tony replied to the question of being a good guy.   "There were these aliens, the KrayTaks, and they attacked a plant called Hyperion.  They wrecked the environment and flooded the plant.  There was only one colony left, out of an entire planet. We managed to fight the Kraytaks and give the Hyperion people their world back but I don't know what happened after that.  We got sent back to Earth."
