He stared round at Gen again as she kept talking. He knew she was saying sentences and that they'd make sense, but his brain had grabbed hold of "he's dead" and was refusing to let go of it. A few bits got through, like 'apartment' and 'fridge' and 'meat', and he actually nodded at the mention of Rachel, which was pretty good. Mainly, though, he was still trying to process everything.
