He had to admit it, St. Patrick's looked a hell of a lot better in the past. Fr. Jennifer did what she could, he knew that, but Downtown being what it was meant that the cathedral had become more than a bit run-down. He'd gone inside for a look around (that was the window Vulture would throw him through, there was where Fr. Jennifer yelled at the Fenris gangs, and so on) but a Mass was about to start so he headed back outside.
The weirdest part of being here was seeing Downtown looking so... so good, really. And it had sky! Still, everywhere he looked, he saw the bones of his time. The sky would vanish soon, hidden by Uptown with all its massive buildings and the supports for all the maglevs, and all the fancy buildings that were here now would simply fall into disrepair and squalor. Not even the Public Eye would go near Downtown, but in this time? This area was almost as Uptown as you could get.
He looked back across the street and up at St. Patrick's once more. Funny how he didn't believe in God anymore, but this place kept pulling at him. Huh. Yawning, he turned away from the cathedral and headed for the nearest coffee shop. Even spidermen got tired sometimes.
