Who: Kylo & Katherine
Where: Training Grounds
What: Training and talking
Rating: Mild for Kylo language and temper tantrums
He had been at the training grounds for an hour waiting for Katherine--she wasn't late, he was just early. He hadn't slept at all that night and when two hours closed in until their meeting he got dressed and dragged himself out. The man sat on a stool in his usual attire of black including a fitted long-sleeve shirt and tough leggings over heavy boots. Long hair loose and hanging free it curtained the sides of his face from view as he bowed forward, elbows on his knees, fingers idly fiddling with one another as he stared blankly at the boring metal floor of the space ship. From afar he looked normal, no worse for wear, but at close range he looked like absolute hell. Dark marks had formed beneath his tired eyes which were sunken and weary, his dark gaze held back by a weight greater than any he had previously carried. More than the genocide of a people. More than war. More than the destruction of entire planets and their civilizations. It was a personal trouble that dragged him, suffocating, to the bottom of a sea of emotions.
Lips drawn into a thin line he swallowed and closed his eyes, hanging his head to run his fingers through the black of his hairline. What was he doing? Why was he here? Why was he so upset? Wasn't this what he had wanted? After all of this time he was going to have his dreams fulfilled and yet it brought him not delight or joy but sorrow and fear. Why?
Even just sitting there debating the subject caused his blood to boil. It was her fault. Their fault. He was like this because they made him this way. How dare that girl come into their lives and ruin his plans. None of this would be happening if she had just stayed dead and dying on that desert-filled rock, Jakku. Better yet; if his family hadn't pushed him away. If that woman had been stronger, had been able to put down her royal crown of superiority to take care of her son! If that man had been a father and not a scavenger lost to the stars.
IT WAS THEIR FAULT!
Kylo Ren stood up and kicked the stool back behind him with incredible force as he roared into the open, empty space. The stool clattered and clanged over the ground before it was flung clear to the other side of the room with a great sweep of his arm and another scream.
THIS WAS ALL. THEIR. FAULT.
