Jake and Laura!
Jake's shoulder was bleeding, and he had a massive graze down the side of one of his thighs, and small scrapes and cuts all over from the dead thing's claws, but other than that, he was just sore from landing so hard. He'd fallen further and landed harder before; granted, they'd been on Pandora where the air was thicker and the ground wasn't tarmac or paving stones, but that didn't matter. His head wasn't too rattled and he hadn't damaged too much, so he was good to go.
He could see his bow close by, and made his way over to pick it up, his leg pulling slightly as he ran. He grinned at the sound of Laura's voice, and scooped up his bow and a couple of arrows that were lying beside it, before heading back over towards her. He spotted movement above and behind her and had an arrow nocked and in the air a second after that as he ran back. Another Whatever crashed to the ground a couple meters behind Laura, a poison-tipped arrow lodged deep in it's eye-socket. "I don't intend leaving Banshee alone," he said as he ran past, and skidding to a halt to slit the creature's throat just to make sure it was dead. Then he tugged his arrow free with a grunt, and stood up straight again, ears on a swivel as he listened all round. "Can you imagine how pissed he'd be? I ain't inflicting that on anyone," he added.
"Oel ngati kameie, ma Tsmuke. How's it going?" he asked as he walked towards her.
