Tommy stayed close to his family. He had nothing to add to the discussion, and he couldn't offer anything in terms of fighting or magic. He couldn't even think up things he could make or build that might help, but he wanted to know what was going on. He wanted to be involved somehow.
He still wound up slumping on the log beside Aunt Marta, though, drinking the coffee she offered him.
