Cristiano squeezed Juliet's hand in return with a nod of love, understanding. She had helped him, too, in so many ways. Every day was dark and lonely without her. Living here was so unlike his home, a kingdom filled with thousands of mer just like himself. If he didn't have Juliet he probably would not have survived this land, truth be told. He would have probably given up trying to live at all.
But now he had things to live for; a beautiful fiancee he loved with all of his heart, family, and friends. Sure, it wasn't the same as having a culture or kingdom but these were the best most compassionate people he'd ever met.
"That does sound fun," Cris said as he broke off a piece of the fish. "What did you see? Did you bring me anything?" he asked cheekily before shoving the bite into his mouth. He chewed a few times and swallowed before answering her own question. "I went shoaling, mostly. I think I worked on my tan. It's hard to tell." He was already so golden.
