Cristiano ([info]surf_n_sand) wrote in [info]spinningcompass,
Hm. Maybe I should have listened to Juliet... Cris thought to himself as he shift on his tail and found a comfortable pose. Still, he wasn't about to not try just because Tommy wasn't in the best of moods. So he smiled and opened the bag.

"I brought you something," he said, because everyone loved gifts. Everyone. So by that logic, Tommy being part of the greater collective, he would like a gift, too. As he rummaged through the sports balls he pulled out a rather large conch with a grin and held it up to his ear.

"This, you will like! I found this in the Ostrokon. It's a place to collect conch knowledge, like where ever you keep books! Anyway, it has a recording from an ancient star follower. I thought you liked that kind of information so I picked it up on the way here." He then extended his arms to offer the conch. "You just listen to it--but you don't have to, now. Just...whenever."

True to his word, when held by the ear an older man's voice started to speak. He sounded excited if not fascinated by whatever in the sky he was looking at from just below the surface, describing how the stars on this night were no longer the same as the stars from two weeks prior, that they had in fact moved and now a red star could be seen that had not existed before. The conch would go on recording for about two hours before it stopped and began again.
